Keanna Lamont is currently a junior at Boston College studying Elementary Education and Applied Psychology and Human Development. She represented North Reading High School at the 2012 MassSTAR conference and has been serving as a junior facilitator and junior operations staff member since 2013. Last year, she joined the Recruitment team for the Conference Planning Committee.
She has worked in school districts of North Reading, Brighton, and Brookline, MA working towards her teaching experience and helping students of all different backgrounds. At Boston College, Keanna has served as a Relay for Life captain, and organization that she has been involved with since 8th grade. She was also involved with the Student Admission Program, reaching out to accepted high school students and greeting visitors to Boston College to tell her about her amazing experiences at the school. As a freshman, she also participated in the Freshman Leadership Project spring break trip to Springfield, MA, working to help many different areas of the community, and as a junior she traveled to Natchez Mississippi to work at an early childhood center to teach and assist the school. Keanna also studied abroad in Madrid her fall semester, traveling to other countries, teaching and tutoring there as well.
MassSTAR provided Keanna the opportunity to come out of her shell and stand up for what she believes in. She has continued to be involved with the organization due to the many formative experiences and great friends she has met through the conference. She hopes to continue to volunteer with MassSTAR to meet and inspire the next generation of leaders!
